Skovshoved Hotel is a historic seaside hotel, selected by the travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller as one of the worlds most hip hotels.
It is a family owned boutique hotel close by the forest, the beach, and the ocean, but still only 7 kilometres away from Copenhagen’s pulsating city life. At the little seaside hotel you will get the feeling of being far away and still close to it all.
In December, the most wonderful Christmas spirit fills the hotel with charming decorations both inside and out, and the delightful scent of homemade mulled wine and traditional Danish “æbleskiver.” When you book our cozy Christmas stay, you can combine the festive atmosphere with Christmas shopping in the local boutiques or take the short trip to Copenhagen’s lively streets and Christmas markets. And if you wish to gather colleagues, friends, or family before the holidays, our in-house restaurant, Restaurant Skovshoved, will treat you to a festive Christmas lunch.

Skovshoved Hotel will be open for both hotel and meeting guests until December 22. After that, we’ll take a short Christmas break and look forward to welcoming you back for check-in on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Restaurant Skovshoved will be closed for the holidays from December 22 and will reopen for lunch and dinner on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Skovshoved Kro will be closed from December 24 and will also reopen on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Skovshoved Hotel’s history dates back to 1660, where it started out as a modest seaside hotel in the then rural fishing village of Skovshoved. Since then the hotel has undergone a number of changes and renovations, most recently in 2003. Today, this means that you can have both the modern and relaxed feeling at the same time.
