Skovshoved Hotel is in the middle of the charming Skovshoved area. One of Copenhagens most exclusive areas and only 7 km from the Copenhagen city center. There are loads of shopping streets in the area such as; Jægerborgs Allé, Strandvejen in Hellerup & Ordrup vej.
There are buses right outside the doors of the hotel, going straight into Copenhagen and there are S-trains (walking distance from the hotel), which means you can be in the city center in only 20 minutes, with exclusive shops and live culture life.
If you are in the mood for some natural nature experience, you can go to many of the areas close to the hotel. For example, you can be picked up in a horse carriage or rent one of the hotels bike and bike to the big deer park. We will arrange guided tours in the historic fishing camp Skovshoved, where you can taken-in the history of fishing houses, the fisherman together with the bronze-figure of ”Skoverspigen” of the the picture artist Vivian Rose. There is also a jetty close the hotel for our guests and it is walking distance from 2 of Copenhagens best beaches; Bellevue strand and Charlottenlund beachpark.
Only few kilometers from the hotel, there is one of the oldest golf clubs, Copenhagen Golf Club, as well as short distance from Søllerrød and Rungsted Golf Clubs. Close to the hotel is also Bakken, a theme park, and the Experimentariet.
Bakken Theme Park
The deer park theme park has a big history, as it stretches more than 400 years back in history and is nothing less than the worlds oldest theme park. Bakken offers 33 different rollarcoasters to choose from. Bakken is entertaining for everyone.
A place where you can explore natural science and technique. Alle activites are free, when you pay the entrance fee.
Tivoli is the biggest, most beautiful and a romantic theme park with experiences for both children and adults in the heart of Copenhagen. You can ride rollarcoasters for all ages, music for every taste and many diverse restaurants that will statsify any taste.
Culture experience, museums and theatres
Ordrupgaard Art Museum
Ordrupgaard is a museum for French Impressionisem and the Danish goldarea with exclusive collection of paintings of artists such as Monet, Gaugin and Hammershøj. Ordrupgaard is placed near the beautiful park of Dyrehaven. The park is made up of different areas such as beech forrest, a baroque inspired rose garden and a meadow area.
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is an international museum with a lovely collection of modern artists. It is placed in Nordsjælland with a panaroma view over Øresund. With 3.000 art pieces in Louisianas perimenant collection, it is amoung Scandinaviens biggest modern art museum.
Gl. Holtegaard Art Museum
Gl. Holtegaard is an art hall with 3-4 different exibitions a year. It shows older, modern and present art, that has a big message for modern people. Gl. Holtegaard’s characteristic is to show artists and pieces that have never been shown to the danish public. The beautiful Baroque garden that surronds the building is a lovely area. In the summer months, the garden forms into a series of concerts featuring both classical and popular music and other events.
Kronborg in Helsingør at the entrance of Øresund, is one of the Notheren Europes most important Renaissance castle and known worldwide from Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Today, Kronborg Castle is one of Denmark’s most important cultural and historical sights; From the outside, a breathtaking sight as the mix of elegant royal palace and brutal military fortress combine. Karen Blixen museum is right by Rungsted Coast in Nordsjælland. The museum is at Rungsted Kyst i Nordsjælland. In addition to the private home (of Karen Blixen), the museum offers a documentary exhibition on the life and works of Karen Blixen and a gallery of Karen Blixens drawings and paintings, as well as films and special exhibitions and events. Behind Rungstedlund stretches across 30 acres of gardens. The area is designed by Karen Blixen’s wishes. There is even the chance to see her grave at the edge of Edwald High.
Bellevue Theatre is placed in Klampenborg, right across from Bellevue Beach. Bellevue Theatre’s repertoire aimes at a broad audience and focuses on new, talented artists and exciting collaborations between the different arts. In recent years, the theatre presents almost exclusively their own productions. Bellevue Theatre is now among the four largest producing theaters in Denmark.
Danmarks Tekniske Museum
Danmarks Tekniske Museum aims to document and communicate developments in science, technology and industry, including aviation in the Danish society. The museum is a nationally recognized non-proft museum that was founded in 1911 by Danish Industry Association and Graftsmen’s Guild in Copenhagen.
